About Me

Mental Health Counseling

As a Mental Health Counselor, I enjoy working with children and their families, adolescents, and adults. Many of them are struggling with a range of issues: Depression, Anxiety, Conduct Disorder, Trauma, ADHD, life transitions, parenting issues, and others. Regardless of the reason for consultation, I always keep in mind the singularity of each person, the individual story, and the circumstances. I assist my clients in exploring their feelings and navigating through their hardships, utilizing different approaches to address each client’s needs.

I have experience working in a variety of settings, including community settings, home-based treatment settings, governmental organizations, and private settings, both in Argentina and Miami. I offer my clients a warm, safe, and relaxed environment that allows and invites them to embark on the unique journey of the therapeutic process.

Services I provide:

Individual Therapy

Do your worries take up a significant part of your day or cause physical symptoms? Together, we can transform your relationship with Anxiety, finding the underlying reason for your symptoms and discovering strategies to treat them. Are you losing hope or motivation? Are you feeling overwhelmed by your daily life? Do you think you have unresolved conflicts from the past? Are you going through a divorce, relocation, or other life transition? You will find a safe space to begin identifying and processing your emotions here. Your therapeutic experience will empower you and teach you more about yourself, discovering new strengths and perspectives.

Children Therapy

As part of my practice, I provide therapy for children; I focus on what is behind the behavior and symptoms to understand their inner conflicts better. I utilize play therapy techniques as playing is an excellent channel for children to express and process their conflicts and big emotions (anger, sadness, worries, fear, or excitement).

When it comes to children in counseling, the team-based approach is the ideal situation. I work very closely with their parents. I offer a space that allows them to address their concerns and keep them involved in counseling. Helping parents gain a better understanding of their children, providing feedback, and offering resources are essential parts of my approach as a therapist.

Mental Health Assessment for Immigration Cases

Having many years of experience working with the immigrant community and being an immigrant myself, I have a good understanding of how the immigration process can pierce your life. I have always been interested in the interplay between a person’s legal and psychological aspects.

I conduct psychosocial evaluations for individuals and their qualifying family members applying to VAWA, U Visa, T Visa, Hardship Waivers, and Political Asylum.

I work closely with the individuals and their attorneys, ensuring the evaluation meets all the requirements for the case. I completed my training at The Immigration Evaluation Institute.

A comprehensive evaluation can add enormous value to the immigration case. A psychological assessment can help to document the psychological effects of an abuse or a crime, describe the effect of trauma, and demonstrate the psychological impact and hardships if a loved one were to be deported.

The psychosocial evaluation takes place over two or three meetings. It depends on the circumstances. As part of the process, I will conduct interviews, administer questionnaires, and utilize screening tools with the individual and, in some cases, with the qualifying family members. After two weeks, I will send a detailed and objective report to the client and the attorney.

You don't have to navigate this alone.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Reflecting on my early years, I remember always being interested in other people’s stories and wondering how they felt. It did not take much time to realize I wanted to work in the mental health field. I earned my degree as a psychologist at the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina. Years after working in a clinical setting, I decided to try a new path and come to Miami, where I obtained my license to practice mental health counseling. I know firsthand how challenging life transitions can be and how crucial it is to have a warm, empathetic professional by your side during these times.

I like to incorporate knowledge into my life. There is always something new and exciting to learn about. I am passionate about my profession, and I recognize the value of constantly improving my skills as a therapist. I am always taking continuing education courses on Depression, ADHD, Grief, and Play Therapy. I am a certified clinical child and adolescent anxiety treatment professional (CCATP-CA) and certified in trauma (CATP). Additionally, I completed my training at the Evaluation Immigration Institute.

During our first session, I will ask some questions about your reason for consultation, explore essential areas of your life, and discuss what you would like to achieve in therapy. I appreciate everyone’s uniqueness. I am respectful and sensitive to cultural differences. I will support you in this adventure, which will never be linear but will benefit you in every area of your life. You can choose to do it online or opt for in-person therapy.

Progress will seem different for everyone, just as therapy is personalized to you and your specific needs. Progress can be defined as, for example, better sleeping habits, improving your communication with your partner, or/and experiencing less anxiety or sadness. Progress can be seen as learning to identify feelings, coping with painful emotions, and becoming more observant of your internal state. Also, dealing with life stressors in a healthier way is a sign of growth. Making contact with new aspects of yourself that you never noticed before is also a sign therapy is working.

Therapy is not a straight path; there are ups and downs. The benefits of therapy don’t happen overnight, but it is a process that is worth going through.
